Resources

There are many great resources in our communities and online to support us on our path of health, well-being and living in right relationship with ourselves and the world around us.  I thought I would share a few of my favourites that have supported me in many different areas of my life.

Arkaya Foundation, founded by my teacher Yogacharini Maitreyi, is a registered non-profit dedicated to sharing the Indigenous wisdom of India. Arkaya Foundation offers live online and pre-recorded on-demand courses. The website offers many great resources on understanding yoga and tantra, including blog posts and articles.

Arkaya Foundation also shares the the wisdom and teachings of yoga and tantra on their:

Ayurveda is the sister science to yoga and supports health on all levels. Gabriola Island Ayurveda, founded by Sonja Zupanec, offers Ayurveda Wellness Coaching (in person or virtual) and traditional, holistic Ayurvedic therapies (in person). Sonja is a dedicated and passionate practitioner and shares the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda in a way that is accessible in our modern lives.

As listed on their website:
The mission of the Quw’utsun’ Cultural Connections Society, is to be guided and governed by Snuw’uy’ulh, the sacred laws that guide all aspects of life for the Quw’utsun' hwulmuhw. This will be done through generations healing the past for the generations yet to come. We acknowledge the sense of emergency of these times and the actions needed for future generations.

They also share that they have a broad legacy vision to protect and support Quw'utsun cultural values and way of life. This will be fulfilled through projects such as Xpey' (Cedar) restoration and protection, digital storytelling, arts, culture and media.

Quw’utsun’ Cultural Connections Society offers workshops, activities and special events.

AncientFUTURES is a local clothing business dedicated to sustainable, slow fashion. Each piece is designed by founder, Ali Genevieve and made with care. Ali's clothes are so comfortable and can be used for any occasion. All of my favourite things to wear while practicing yoga (or anytime) are ancientFUTURE pieces. AncientFUTURES uses sustainable fibres including merino wool, bamboo, cotton, tencell, and modal.

AncientFUTURES clothing is sold online, at local businesses and at local markets and festivals.

Spring Hill Soil Laboratory , run by Amy Luck MacGregor, supports gardeners and farmers in restoring the soil microbiome by nurturing microbiology that is indigenous to your bioregion. Amy is passionate about the work she does and shares tools and principles to help you work with nature, not against it.

Spring Hill Soil Laboratory offers soil food web analysis, composts, compost extracts and compost teas that will bring new life and abundance to your garden, supporting your health and the health of the Earth.

I respectfully acknowledge that I live on the unceded traditional territory of the Quw'utsun people.
I am grateful to all the keepers of this land, past, present and future.
